Kiki Slaughter is an abstract painter best known for her expansive colorfield compositions that explore the fundamental process of painting. Working intuitively, she pours, scrapes, and layers paint to create dynamic surfaces rich in color, movement, and texture. Paint is both her method and her muse - she finds inspiration in the very act of painting itself and also draws elements from the world around her, especially nature.
Extending her painterly vision beyond the canvas, Slaughter translates her originalworks into bold textile and wallpaper designs, bringing her color-saturated aestheticinto art driven interiors.
She holds a B.A. in Art and Art History from the University of Virginia and an M.A. inContemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London. Her work is held innumerous public and private collections, including Keswick Hall, Quirk Hotel,Blackberry Farm, and Omni Hotels. Slaughter lives and works in Richmond, Virginia.
