Well + Wonder Pop-Up: Get to Know the Artists
Pop-Up Details:
Mollie Creason, Founder and Chief Curator of Well + Wonder
A true curator at heart, Mollie decided to forego the latest Tory Burch shoes and opted to begin collecting art in her late 20s. Being raised in the South and having a strong appreciation for the story that art tells, Molly is passionate about curating pieces that add to her home's life story! "The stories we tell, the friends we meet, the community we make; as a Southerner that is so important to us." Mollie's passion to inspire others to do the same is infectious and we're so happy to support an organization that embodies many of the same core values!
Having studied studio art as well as creative writing at Wake Forest University, Eleanor Scott is drawn to the way abstract art, like poetry, is left open to individual interpretation. Her artistic process mirrors her role as a mother. The forgiving nature of acrylics allows her to create with her three girls by her side, resulting in bold abstracts and simple landscapes that are richly textured, deeply saturated in color and full of happy energy! Currently residing in Raleigh, NC with her family, our team was drawn to Eleanor Scott's beautiful pieces, as well as her transparent and often hilarious account of her home life as told by her Instagram feed.
Nan Jones, Artist
Raleigh, NC based artist, Nan Jones creates deeply textured work achieved mostly through the use of a palette knife. Nan approaches each piece as a blank canvas with a limited palette and allows the piece to evolve, incorporating colors as she goes. Thriving in a creative environment, Nan draws upon nature for inspiration and loves using unexpected palettes with a mix of graphical and chaotic elements. Residing with her husband and Daughter, Nan believes that her work is a "joyful journey that's instinctive and continuously evolving." We can't wait to see her unique palettes resonate with the bright spectrum of our flagship!
Amanda Petro, Artist
Raised in Fairhope, Alabama, a town full of artists and patrons of the arts, Amanda's passion to create flourished. After receiving degrees from both The University of Alabama and The Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta in Studio Art, Amanda developed her own expressionistic style of art that she describes as being "the perfect balance of intuitive experimentation and intentional precision." Currently residing in Birmingham with her husband and two babies, we are excited to see her always vibrant and cheery palettes at home among our colorful furniture and gifts!
