Brides Magazine asked four legendary fashion designers to create dream tablescapes. Zac Posen, Marchesa, Monique Lhuillier, and Carolina Herrera. I sent off my golden Darlingtons months ago to be considered and when I heard the issue had hit newsstands, I rushed to the nearest drugstore to see if "Mrs.Herrera," as referred to by the team at Brides, had approved.
Flipping to the page seemed like an eternity, but there it was! You can only see the tops of them, but hey-- I'll take it ;) Mom joined in on the excitement (while picking up orange juice for our celebratory champagne brunch!) and Alan Dale, who is in Vegas on a boys trip, stopped in to pick up an issue for himself despite his friends' confusion. "My wife's on page 374!"
Aside from the obvious bias, Mrs. Herrera's tablescape is above and beyond my favorite. She paired "luxe classics" with elegant touches. No detail was left undone-- she chose beautiful fine China by the prolific interior designer Charlotte Moss and thoughtfully wrapped the centerpiece vases in one of my favorite patterns and designers' popular choice, Quadrille.
It's always refreshing to see my Society Social designs through someone else's eyes, Carolina Herrera no less. From fashion to furnishings, her impeccable taste shines through...to no one's surprise. Now I can only imagine what she would wear to this spectacular dinner party of hers and hope I would have a name place card at her lovely table!
Thank you to everyone at Brides who made this happen and of course to Mrs.Herrera for granting SS a seat at her chic table!
