How the product is made

Each rug is created through a multi-step process of yarning, dying, drying, spinning, and weaving. Yarns are selected by traditional practitioners who work on looms that are often generational. Dye masters ensure the right effect, given over 200+ color choices. Yarns are dyed several times to ensure color fastness which makes each rug mostly reversible. Master weavers then take the carefully dyed yarns and create each design like a work of art.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find care information for this piece?

You can find information about caring for this piece here.

What type of rug do you recommend for layering under this rug?

We love to layer a neutral rug such as our Natural Sisal Basketweave Rug to ground the colors of the dhurrie rug.

What size rug should I layer under my dhurrie rug?

For a 6x9’ dhurrie rug we recommend an 8x10’ base rug.

Has this rug been treated for cleaning and stain-resistance?

We do not add any chemical treatment to our rugs. With that said, the tightness of the weave and substantial materials used to create our rugs allow for easy cleaning. If you'd like to further protect your rug we recommend a service such as Fiber-Seal.
