How did you find your current place? What were you looking for in a home?
We found our current home after searching in New Canaan for about 6 months. We were looking for an antique with a great yard and the pool was a plus! We fell in love with the wide planked hardwood floors and exposed beams in the ceiling in the oldest part of the house.
When did your love for color begin? Have you always enjoyed decorating?
I’ve always loved color, but my love for decorating began about 5 years ago when we moved into our previous home in Bedford, NY. I saw it as a blank canvas that I had a lot of fun with. I started with painting the main living space my favorite color, turquoise, and began adding lots of blue and white pieces from there.
We'd like to think of this turquoise as Diana's signature color! It's traveled with her with each move!
What advice would you give someone who is nervous about adding color to their home?
Go for it! If you're nervous, start introducing color into the space in the form of a small accessory like a fun decorative tray! You can always add different shades of the same color in accent pieces around the room.
We love Diana's pops of pink!
Which room in your house was the biggest transformation?
Our powder room room was the biggest transformation. Our kitchen and family room had great make overs as well. The before and afters are great!
The after! A small space with a big transformation!
Your home is filled with lots of gorgeous antique and vintage pieces which really makes the space feel unique to you! Do you have a favorite piece?
I have a sweet spot for our vintage blue and white striped settee in our living room. It’s not only comfy, but stylish and practical.
Give us one decorating tip!
Don't be afraid to pattern mix! It adds character.
I bet you wouldn't have guessed this fabulous room was a playroom!
Did we mention we got to spend the day with Diana's sweet daughter, Rosie as well? How cute is she!
Give us one entertaining tip!
Prepare as much as you can ahead of time and make your guests feel at home!
And Diana did exactly that!
Diana, thank you for inviting us into your gorgeous home! We had an absolute blast! Cheers!
