our story

who we are

We are a company with a really big heart, a love of modern style, and an insatiable penchant for fun, and flair. Cheers and welcome to the Social!
It all began in August 2011 with six originally designed bar carts. In less than four months, we found ourselves listed amongst House Beautiful’s “The Best”, and in the pages of HGTV, Southern LivingReal Simple, The Huffington Post, Apartment Therapy, Daily Candy, and Lonny to name just a few.
We believe that life is a party, so you and your home should be well-equipped to celebrate it. We love joie de vivre, keeping champagne on hand at all times, following your heart and chasing your dreams (after all, that’s why we’re here today!)
From the very start, this business was personal. Literally raised in her family’s furniture factory, founder/designer Roxy grew up learning the ins and outs of creating exceptional pieces in an old school (lots of elbow grease) kind of way. Society Social is proud to continue the tradition of creating quality furnishings available at a budget-friendly price.
Our one-of-a-kind designs are thought up in-house by the Society Social team and are entirely original to our business. In other words, you will not find them anywhere else. And did we mention that every single piece is made or finished to order?
We are different because furniture is our family legacy, quality is our priority, and fun is our signature. Each piece is made individually just for you. Our in-house production team double and triple checks every little detail. So if you want a hot pink twill sofa, a classic ivory linen arm chair, or a lacquered orange bar cart, we will have it covered! What matters most is making you smile—that’s what will make us proud to be a part of your home.

FAVORITE SHOOT?

The Philly shoot. The work was grueling but road trips are always fun. The hotel was located directly underneath the Ben Franklin bridge for great views at night. Also, it was the most technical shoot I had ever been on at the time and really challenged my skills. Thesis studios was born on that trip.
