The Art of Mixing With Designer, Ainsley Stewart

Meet Ainsley

During her years in the luxury hospitality industry, Ainsley honed her eye for interiors that invite you in and shape your experience. At Gardner Fox in Bryn Mawr, PA, she leads a team of designers creating functional, but chic, environments in their homes. With the firm’s architects and carpenters at hand, she designs custom kitchens, mill work, bespoke upholstery and more. Ainsley is known to pair bold traditional elements, such as chinoiserie wallpaper, vintage rugs or freshly lacquered case pieces, with modern, clean-lined furniture and lighting.

Gardner/Fox Associates is a full-service Design Build firm with architects on staff, providing commercial and residential construction services as well as custom interiors led by Ainsley herself.

"For a dynamic entrepreneur's home office, the Cornelia Chairs offered organic texture in a decidedly modern shape. Those characteristics chimed perfectly with our client's focus on artisan-oriented women's fashion." - Ainsley

Ainsley's Design Tip

"Don't forget about your windows! Drapes add softness, sophistication and the perfect finishing touch. If you can't afford custom, seek retail drapes that are lined and be sure to hang them 1-2" below the crown modeling. Your dry cleaner's tailor can hem them to the proper length and sometimes even add trim for a custom touch."

Playful Sophistication

Ainsley Stewart, Interior Designer at Gardner/Fox Associates, welcomes us inside a few of their latest projects featuring Society Social styles; a darling dressing room that doubles as a home office, a beautifully layered dining room and a punchy seating area rich with texture, pattern and fringe.

The Dressing Room of Our Dreams

Seriously, we're moving in! Even with vibrant leopard fabric and patterned drapery, hues of olive green and flax exude a welcoming and idyllic state of mind. A pair of Cornelia Rattan Swivels flank the beautiful built-ins.

Going Green

Soaring lacquered green columns, chinoiserie wallpaper and rich burlwood & grasscloth furniture give this great room an unmistakably fresh yet collected feeling. Our Newport Grasscloth Console, in a custom color finish and Faux Bamboo X-Stools in the iconic Les Touches fabric are ready for roaring dinner parties to come.

Striking Style

With a uniform color story, florals, animal print and whimsical wall-coverings combine to create a playful, yet sophisticated seating area. Here Ainsley paired our Betty Stools, in a COM fabric and bullion fringe selection, with our Celine Grasscloth Parsons Table in vinyl blush. Our Daisy Rattan Coffee Table (archived style), grounds the space with its generous scale and soft curves.

A big thank you to the entire Gardner/Fox team for including us in your design projects! Photography by Morgan Brinton.
