At Home With Ariel

Step inside Ariel Okin's layered & livable home featuring wallpaper galore, a deft use of color, bespoke and antique pieces, and all of our favorite furniture designs from our collection together last year. A beautiful life starts at home, welcome in!

The Amy Scalloped Console Table is inspired by Okin's mom, Amy, who is perennially cheerful and optimistic. Handcrafted scallops and a stylish brass capped foot make for a punchy yet sophisticated console - and in two sizes and unlimited colors, she can work in any space! Shown above in Sherwin Williams "Snowbound" 7004.

The Bobbie Wicker Ottoman, named after Okin's dad and father-in-law (they have the same name!), offers up handsome lines with a feminine twist. Rooted in classic silhouettes, the Trompe L'Oeil wicker detailing harkens back to the ever-stylish homes of Marella Agnelli, which were replete with wicker. (Bonus? Bobbie's soft lines and upholstered top are perfectly kid-friendly!)
For her custom Bobbie, Ariel sent in Dolly, a Sister Parish fabric.

"Sister Parish prints have stood the test of time, from the Kennedy White House to Bunny Mellon's homes - and now Eliza Harris, Sister's great-granddaughter, is bringing the brand into the modern era. The brand's new additions of performance fabrics, new colorways and beautiful new and re-released prints are absolutely gorgeous, and we love using their fabrics and wall coverings in our projects."

The Fenimore Grasscloth Coffee Table is named after Fenimore Lane, the street that Okin grew up on, on Philadelphia's Main Line. Inspired by the lines of Karl Springer's iconic furniture of the 80's, we updated those timeless silhouettes with some clean edges. Offered in a beautiful textured natural grasscloth, this coffee table is sure to add the perfect hint of texture to a space.
For her formal living room, Ariel also selected our Gramercy Sofa, a classic rolled-arm style made modern in our fresh Performance Natural Linen fabric with added Tally Leaf contrast piping.

The Franny Side Table is named after Okin's legendary grandmother - Fran who, at 86, is still adding pizzazz to people's lives everyday. Chic caning and a petite size give Franny the ability to fit in anywhere, whether next to sofas in a living room or beside a rocker in a nursery as shown above. Available in any Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore color match, Franny just might be your new best friend!

Which was your favorite room in the house to decorate?
I really liked designing the house in its entirety, because it became a personal story about how each room spoke to each other, and how the palettes and patterns were interwoven to create a cohesive space. But I did really enjoy designing our bedroom and our dining room - they were both very challenging spaces with not a lot of natural light, so it felt gratifying at the end!

What coffee table or design books are you finding inspiration from right now?
I am always digging into some design and architecture books; currently, I'm revisiting Tom Scheerer, Gil Schafer and Patrick Ahearn's tomes.
