At the Races

{Photography by Jen Dang}
Last weekend my partner in crime, Jen, invited me to a fashion blogger day trip up to Saratoga Springs for a day at the races with America's Best Racing. Fashion blogger, I am not, but I took to dressing the part with enthusiasm. I mean, any excuse to wear a fascinator and pretend to be the Duchess, and you can sign me up!
I wore a lacey, cut out red dress by a favorite new brand, Self Portrait. Lace overlays, cut outs, siren red, a sheer back...it sounds like I've channeled Roxanne in the song Roxanne (y'all she's a hooker!) but Self Portrait put these details together in such a lovely way. I love the flared hem, too! It adds a feminine touch that really brings everything together in a ladylike way. If you haven't heard of the brand you should definitely check them out. They have unique dresses that look expensive but are in fact pretty affordable for the detail and design that go into them. My original fascinator wasn't going to arrive in time from the UK (if it's good enough for Kate, it's good enough for me ;) so I found a last minute fascinator in NYC. It's not quite as big as I would normally go, but it did the trick!
Thanks to Jen for inviting me and to all the vivacious and sweet bloggers who coached me through these 4 photos. I don't know how y'all do it!!
